Frederick Hogan, LPC, EMDR Certified
Fred Hogan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and one of the more experienced EMDR therapists in the area, having practiced and refined the approach over many years. His work is grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing model and a developmental approach — a framework that helps explain not just what people are struggling with, but why, and what it takes to move through it.
Fred works especially well with people who tend to be practical and goal-oriented: first responders, teachers, and others who are more comfortable with a structured, technique-focused approach to therapy than an open-ended one. His specialties include PTSD, OCD, depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and grief and loss, and he works with both adolescents and adults.
His path to private practice was built on deep clinical experience. After earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan and his master’s in counseling from Oakland University, he spent twelve years working with children at a state psychiatric facility, followed by more than eight years as a therapist at Macomb County Community Mental Health. That foundation shows up in his work as steady, experienced, and focused on results.
